Uganda is to construct a Car assembling plant, this development comes after an agreement with China’s Zhong Da Group and Zhang’s Group, which will construct a $600m Industrial park at the Uganda Liao Shen Industrial Park, located in Kapeke, Nakaseke District, a town located about 50km from the Capital-Kampala.
The car assembling plant which will be located within the Industrial park, in the first phase will assemble trucks and tractors, and will generate about 10,000 direct jobs for Ugandan’s.
Uganda’s President Yoweri K. Museveni who commissioned the Industrial park hailed this endeavor with China and reportedly said this venture will speed up the industrialization processes of Uganda while employing thousands of Ugandans.
The park will feature 49 diversified industries, with the first phase expected to feature 10 enterprises which will include an automobile assembling, electronics, tools and machinery, agro-processing, beef processing and packaging and animal feeds processing plants.
The event, was witnessed by the vice-governor of Liaoning Province of the People’s Republic of China, Gai Rui, Zao Yali, the ambassador of the People’s Repulic of China, Ugandan ministers among others.
